Natural Rootbeer Kit
Whether you call it pop or soda, there’s no denying the popularity of sweetened carbonated beverages in North America. The first sodas were made by flavouring mineral water with fruits or herbs and adding honey for sweetness.
Root beer, birch beer, and sarsaparilla are fine examples of traditional soft drinks made with whatever botanicals were on hand. Nowadays most “homemade root beer” kits contain a bottle of root beer concentrate or flavouring rather than the actual plant components – not this one! We supply the actual roots, leaves, and berries that you'll steep to make your own concentrate and, from that, your own 100% natural soda.
If you love it, we're happy to sell you a refill packet – but since our recipe is freely available, you can also source your own botanicals and tweak the recipe to your liking! You can also use this process to make fruit-flavored or “cream” sodas.
